Cebu, Philippines is not only known because of its beautiful and pure beaches but also its mouthwatering foods and goodies. People in Cebu are also friendly and are considered hospitable when it comes to tourists and visitors. There are also a lot of historical sceneries like the Magellan’s Cross and the Lapu Lapu Shrine. To be able to get to these destinations and thoroughly enjoy Cebu’s paradise, you need to get the most suitable transportation.

The best way for you to reach the city from the airport is by hiring a taxi.

Upon exiting the airport, which is located in Mactan, Lapu Lapu, there are airport taxis available you just have to fall in line and wait for your turn, but the turnover is pretty fast. There are two lanes for you to choose from the white taxi lane and the yellow taxi lane. The white taxi lane is cheaper than the yellow ones, and the yellow taxi lane is shorter than that of the white ones. When you reached the city center of Cebu where most of the malls, restaurants, and hotels are located, you take the Multicabs or jeepneys to enjoy the city. The difference between a Multicab and a jeepney is that jeepneys are a lot bigger than the Multicab. Multicabs cost around 5 pesos, while the jeepneys rate is from 8 pesos to 12 pesos, depends on how far you want to go.

If you would want to go to the beaches, you can go to Hagnaya port by bus and use a ferry to reach the south of Cebu where most beaches are. There are a lot of beaches to explore In Cebu South. There is the province of Alcoy and the famous Bantayan. In Alcoy, there are a lot of beaches which are cheap. The entrance fees in Alcoy beaches are within 50 -100 pesos per person. In Alcoy, you can bring a mat and stay in a certain part of the beach where you can feel the sea breeze and appreciate its beauty. On the other hand, Bantayan Island is famous because of its beautiful blue and pure waters and the famous whales. Bantayan cost a little higher than that of Alcoy and is farther to travel. From Alcoy, it will take another 3-4 hours via Bus. The travel time is worth it to Bantayan because once you arrive there, you will be amazed on how peaceful and clean the island is. There are packages offered in resorts in Bantayan if you would want to swim with the whales. Packages range from 2500- 3000 pesos, depending on what hotel or resort are you in.

Aside from the places and the beaches, Cebu is known for their mouthwatering Lechon Cebu. In every mall there is a stall or a booth which sells this. You should never leave Cebu, Philippines without tasting this delicacy.
